Text Box: It was a Happy Easter. Mom and I went to my brother Joe and sister in law Gloria’s house. As usual, Niece Christine and family were all there. Great niece Tara was out of action and suffering through a recent concussion she received in a softball game. The suffering wasn’t the pain. It was not being able to go on her cell phone for long periods of time. My sister-in-law Gloria in her true fashion put together another excellent feast. Due to a prior family commitment, great Niece Karen and Eric were not able to share in all the fun. It was Eric’s family’s turn to have their family over. Mom and great niece Kelly weren’t feeling that great and developed swollen tongues, big ears and odd shaped noses. At first it appeared as if we would have to take them to the hospital for treatment, but as the night wore on they were feeling much better. Mom was a big hit at the festive table defending her insistence that she didn’t have anything to eat and was mad when we told her she did. Next days blood sugar test revealed that she had plenty of sugars and carbs the entire day and the insulin didn’t help at all. We had a great time and left looking forward to the next celebration. Hopefully, it will be very soon so I can put on a few more pounds. Holiday weight gain has hit me hard and it’s time to get back on the ball and stop the insanity.
